Enjoy Guang Liang’s Tong Hua on YouTube!

June 1st, 2007 by Wai Loong (Add Your Comment)

I’m sure Chinese music lovers here in Singapore (Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China etc…) will remember and be mesmerized by Michael Wong’s (Guang Liang) Tong Hua.

I remembered that I first hear it from Chen Wei Lian (Weilian) from Project Superstar, hosted by formally Channel U. He was really very good! The lyrics are very simple and the chorus escalates (in “climate”) as it plays towards the end.

I was thinking of the song again this evening and try my luck on YouTube again. Boy am I surprised at the amount of productions (some may be copyrighted) available online! I think video streaming is extremely useful for casual music lovers like me who occasionally looks for oldies or even the latest tunes.

Here is one I found with Chen Wei Lian while he was still competing in the Project Superstars…

Chen Wei Lian in Project Superstar:

You will need the latest Macromedia flash plugin for your web browser otherwise it will just simply shows an empty box above.

A little digging for more of such clips revealed no less than 6 different versions of the same song. Oh, and they aren’t just songs. Some of them are MTVs (music TVs), while others are personal productions and edited versions by many talented people around the globe.

The original high quality version by Michael Wong is available too!

Guang Liang-Tong Hua (Fairytale) MTV Karaoke:

If you’re like me and enjoy the original ones, perhaps you will be surprised by other variations of the MTV.

What I mean is variations put together by people using various clips or home made recordings. 😉

I really enjoy the Final Fantasy VIII version especially because it is very touching (if you like the game series animations) and there are English subtitles too!

Like I said, there are many variations, mostly home made ones! I think you might enjoy some of these that I’ve found for you:

Tong Hua (by Guang Liang) for Ricky:

Tong Hua?? Guitar solo~!

and the winner is…

Tong Hua (My Version!)

That was more than half an hour of entertainment so I hope you like them all! 😉

Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend ahead!
