Saying Love and The Seed of Undying Rose
Just today, I’ve been completely overwhelmed and touched by a little lesser known tune call “The Rose” (little known at least for me).
How do you articulate your feelings of love?
And why are roses associated to romance?
Want to know more about roses?

In reality, Real Roses are very expensive… though, many times they can be really gorgeous! If you’ve ever paid for roses… you’ll know how they drill holes in your pockets. Before I show them off, perhaps a little background of where I’m coming from, is in order…

A Little Background…
As you’ve probably not know, I’ve been quietly collecting a small collection of tranquil tunes for my blog. Music are by far one of the most powerful energy on earth that can affect your mood… and that’s one of the primary motivation for me to attempt to build a philosophic themed, personal blog around music (or multimedia) if it’s within my capability.

Unfortunately, as I was poking around my playlist on imeem, I noticed that most of the songs have turned to ugly 30 seconds previews… Arghh!!!
And one of those affected tunes is called “The Roses“…!
Perhaps you’re not familiar with the song. But as you’ll get to hear it about it real soon, you’ll be completely tranquilized and charmed by its magic!

Introducting… The Roses!
The original tune is so mesmerizing that I cannot forget it! A little research from folks who are extremely annoyed by the 30 seconds preview limitation led me on to find out a lot more about “The Roses”…
“The Rose” is a pop song written by Amanda McBroom and featured in the 1979 movie, “The Rose”. It was performed by Bette Midler which hit #3 on the U.S. pop charts with her version and was certified as a gold single. Ever since, it has been covered by a variety of artists… of which I’ve included 3 little versions that I’m sure you’ll love instantly!

#1 “The Rose” Slide-show and Music By WestLife

The first version I’ve found, is a beautiful slide-show of pictures you’ll probably ever ask for in life!
If you can play YouTube clips on your machine right now (sometimes you may be blocked if you’re behind a cooperate proxy or firewall), I recommend you take a start buffering it right now while you continue reading…

I poke further. Eventually, I’ve found the lyrics of the song!
It’s so touching that I cannot help but to share it:
Some say love, it is a river that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower, and you it’s only seed. It’s the heart, afraid of breaking, that never learns to dance.
It’s the dream, afraid of waking, that never takes a chance.
It’s the one who won’t be taken, who cannot seem to give.
And the soul, afraid of dyin’, that never learns to live. When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun’s love, in the spring becomes the rose.
Did you have a chance to read the lyrics above?
Love… is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed.
Bluntly, that’s to leave your heart to bleed.
And the soul that’s afraid of dying… that will never learn to live.
Have you ever the chance to fear death – to the point of integrating it into your life – as a tremendous pain?
As the night falls, and the road is long… will you be lonely?
And is love specifically reserved for the strong and fortunate?
As winter goes, the seed survives as spring comes around once more.
How much of its beauty can you identify from the lyrics?

#2 “The Rose” By Bette Midler
Below is the original classic from Midler currently still available on YouTube! I’m sure you’ll love Bette’s voice immediately! But hurry – YouTube takes down video clips faster than ever before – if you ever care about copyrights.

#3 “The Rose” By Bianca Ryan
Not much to say about Bianca except for WOW! I think she’s pretty young for her age to display so much professionalism that brings out the life within “The Rose”.

#3 “The Rose” By Westlife
If you prefer guys, then here’s the WestLife’s version. This boyband from UK need no introduction as one of the heaviest and most popular band in the west. Nothing spectacular by WestLife in my opinion, but they’ve received enough good reviews for me to put this up to complement the ladies’ versions.

Maybe you’re feeing the sunset. Maybe you’re feeling life is so stuck up now, or that you’re too caught up and frustrated with life.Or that you see no light at the end of the tunnel…
Just remember – that Life is beautiful and full of love.
Let that feeling and the tranquility of the song sinks in and may you be blissed…
Until then,
Have a wonderful week/weekend ahead &

Hi Bro Wai Loong,
Slightly away fm love of the heart topic for me,
I think we share something common here…We love nature & natural things. Maybe in our daily life,
we have to face with IT equipment all the time. Hence, at time with some flower near us can make our
mind relax & beatified things.
Thim Wai
LOL!
You can put some money plant on your desk. It’s easy to maintain for a long while and you can still see greenery.;-)
I face human problems daily. In my opinion, technological problems are far less daunting than human based problems.
So, the next time you see human problems, start loving them!
